Los Angeles marked International Overdose Awareness Day with a community walk at Hollenbeck Park. The event at Boyle Heights honored loved ones who lost their lives from overdose.

LA County reported a 6% drop in accidental overdose deaths last year, continuing a three-year decline. Despite progress, overdoses remain the county’s leading cause of accidental deaths, with fentanyl and methamphetamine involved the most.
